The 250 kW Power Generation System is scheduled to be available in 2010, with the first system to be installed in the Canoe Pass Tidal Commercialization Project located near Campbell River BC. Initially, only a high velocity model of this turbine will be available with a low velocity model to be introduced in 2011. This model is primarily targeted at tidal applications due to the size of the rotor. The high velocity turbine has a rotor diameter and height of 7.6 meters.
Tidal farms of multiple megawatts can be constructed with the 250 kW Power Generation System. As the initial system will be deployed in a floating configuration it will be limited to near shore installations.
