Bonnybrook Waste Water Treatment Plant

January, 2006

The Bonnybrook project was the first semi-permanent installation installed by New Energy, serving as a demonstration project that logged over 1000 hours of run-time. This project was instrumental in advancing our understanding in a variable flow, restricted flow application. The system used a constant speed control system, a ducted prototype turbine design, and a flow restriction setup with spill-over above a specified height. This project was a significant influence on future New Energy turbine designs with new insights on managing large variable drag loads, managing power generation in changing flow conditions, and on operations in restricted flow conditions.
